This study investigates the neuromuscular impairment due to gait asymmetries by quantifying and assessing comprehensively the gait patterns of autism children. Moreover, this research will identify postural control deficiencies associated with autistic children during both static and dynamic postural challenges. Further, center of pressure (COP) movement and separation of the centre of mass (COM) from the support base during quiet standing and displacements of the COP during gait initiation will be investigated too. Gait analysis will be conducted and transformation theorem will be used to determine the occurrence of variability based on three comprehensive categories of gait parameters namely basic, kinetic and kinematic parameters.

Gait asymmetries to be investigated and identified may allow treatment’s protocols for autism to be established and will lead to enhance functional status for the autism children. Finally, significant intervention related to gait and movement will be identified that will bring new chapter in lives of children affected by Autism. Findings from this research will contribute to the healthcare National Key Economic Area (NKEA) namely medical technology and health services.
